Has anyone made a good guild for how to ask for survival money on the fediverse yet? One that outlines how tagging strangers isn't a good long term strategy. That it can temporarily work for engagement but sooner or later you will either loose your account or get blocked so much that you don't have much reach. There is this an influx of people in trying to crowd fund for their survival coming here and we should help provide them with the means to continue to do so sustainability.

@liaizon It's hard to decide which account is scam and who is real. I do not have a solution ...

@liaizon i feel like most people have the common sense to know that direct mentioning strangers is unethical, and the vast majority of that behavior comes from bots / scammers.
Even though, a guide would be dope. Especially if it had a section on how to stand out and differentiate themselves from the spammers. Also, an Arabic translation since there are a lot of bad actors right now taking advantage of the plight of Palestinians to grift (like they haven't suffered enough already). -

@liaizon@wake.st Been thinking about this. We really ought to look at what's working for mutual aid in the space.

@liaizon @deadsuperhero to focus on logistics only for a moment, fedi desperately needs an implementation like coindrop.to, and it can't be one developed by ideologues which refuse to support putting cryptocurrency addresses on one's profile (despite all legit issues with various cryptocurrencies)

@deadsuperhero I am following a number of accounts who are doing some interesting things. And of course what @aral is working on with @gazaverified is amazing but we could do so much more

@deutrino @deadsuperhero I completely agree. @silverpill's Mitra has some support of crypto payments but there its still a bit too technically minded to set up for the majority of people who I could really see getting good use out of it.
