I forgot to mention in the tips that you can edit your posts after sending them. That's a godsend. Anyhow, it's great to 'meet' you and welcome to the party. Hope the rest of your day is fantastic.

- you can FULLY (and fully means fully!) use
even without an app, as opposed to e.g. Instagram
- you can passively participate (read everything, not just a limited preview) even without an account!
- for quotes, you have far more options than on other platforms and you decide, who can quote you (even afterwards)
- you choose your "home", but are still connected with the whole fediverseAnd give imperialists a kick in the ass! 🙏😉

Maybe it would make sense to migrate to using the term "fediverse" as well. Away from the product Mastodon, because there are also other products available and competing with their commercial counterparts like Friendica (alternative to Facebook), Pixelfed (alternative to Instagram) and Loops (alternative to TikTok).
(Not to mention various smaller projects and forks or alternatives to Mastodon as well)
@der_schrank that depends on how the buttons is built technically. A "share on Mastodon" button does not necessarily work for other Fediverse software. I know that there are currently multiple technical implementations of these sharebuttons across the internet, and some work for users of for example Sharkey, but others only work for Mastodon users. Not sure which is true for the EU Comm ones.

How can we make more Europeans come to the Fediverse?@hpod16 I think a program that would provide funding to support some types of organizations setting up their own fedi instances could be a good idea for getting more of them on board. That could get all sorts of local information streams people naturally want to subscribe to over here.
Also, looking at for example the Forkiverse you see how effective that can be in getting people to at least try fedi when there's a natural community around something.

I was more thinking about the overall coverage to refer to "fediverse" instead of only "Mastodon". But I'm not a hard liner there. Better mention Mastodon than nothing at all.

Presumably everybody here has tried at one point or another to mention the Fediverse to their friends. Who have then ignored it because it's not what they already have on their phones. And it's probably the same everywhere. So specifically *Europeans* I don't know. People all over? Keep telling them that the big fascists run the big "social" websites. Until they maybe finally listen. 🤷

Most of the drama dropped out once the Traitors had the numerical advantage. The traitors were almost a sure thing after James, and maybe after Matt. The production team managed to introduce some drama with introducing the idea that Stephen might defect. But after the vote between James and Rachel, when he had the chance and didn't take it, it seemed less and less likely.
