The truth makes some folks uncomfortable, but it doesn't stop being the truth.

@thegibson @c0debabe My SWE mentor always ranted about how you can't call it "sequel", because that's a different thing. You must call it ess-queue-ell.
but it's s-u-do because it's super-user do ;)
@maddiefuzz Counterpoint: Number of rap songs where it's pronounced as "sequel," one. Number of rap songs where it's pronounced as "ess queue ell," zero. ;)

I have the head-understanding that it's supposed to be "superuser (su) do" and thus "su do", my mouth says "sue dough" every single time.
Yet another reason to use doas instead 😆

@maddiefuzz @thegibson @c0debabe I say Squeal, or Squirrel if I'm being funny. Post greh squeal. My squirrel. Oracle is a criminal organization and Larry Ellison should be hunted with spears. That one is a bit long-winded.

@c0debabe I know it's "superuser do", but I read it as "pseudo" when I first got started with Linux and I can't fix it now. 😅

@c0debabe I personally prefer the pronunciation of "sue D'OH!", which is usually the sound I make after doing something stupid immediately after typing that command.

@c0debabe I know it stands for "super user do", but it's still pronounced "sue dough." Similarly the program whose name stands for "file access trace" is pronounced "fat race," mostly because it's way funnier.
