Oh look. Americans blaming the disabled man again, despite being forewarned about his condition, despite the only reason for him being there was for a FILM ABOUT HIS LIFE and how Tourettes impacts him and those around him. Despite him VOLUNTARILY LEAVING because of his condition.
ANYBODY who has even just met a person with Tourettes knows that they cannot help what their tic does. Sometimes it is up to the abled bodied person to not take it personally. The able-bodied person who doesn't have that daily struggle to control their body.
Fuck me, you can see how the US really loved those Ugly Laws...

John Davidson is a Tourettes Syndrome Activist. He's done Documentaries to show what it is like to live with tourettes and put his life out there for others to see, so that folks know how tics cannot be helped, and they often come with so much remorse because the affected person has no power over it.
I remember one of my teachers had a son with Tourettes. They did a (I think a channel 4?) documentary when he was about 7 or 8 to help people understand that he was not, intact, a bad kid, but that he was dealing with something very difficult.
If you are mad at John Davidson today, I implore you to watch at least one of the documentaries about him, before you fucking rage at yet another disabled person

People with Tourettes need understanding, not persecution, and what is happening today is horrifying.
The BAFTAS fucked up, not by inviting John, but by broadcasting the tic. They had a beeper, they had a delay on the live feed, that's the fuck up. Those were accomodations put in place for a disabled man, and those accomodations failed.

And because of these documentaries, that's why the UK is not currently mad at John. Educate yourselves. Grow some understanding. The man is a treasure.
