Regarding my study of the #Italian language, I can report that I am making measurable progress. I can understand the gist of most sentences, and only occasionally have to look up specific words.
The big challenge remains speaking Italian. I am attending evening classes, which helps - but most of my self-practice is based on written texts, and not spoken words. And, to be honest, I am not particularly extroverted anyway, so speaking something when I am uncertain of my words is always going to be difficult.
Oh well. I got over this hurdle with English, and hopefully this will be true with Italian as well.

If you like we can exchange some vocals on Signal (I created a group for foreigners Italian students but at the moment it's quite... let's say... empty 😁).
Recording a vocal could help if you still don't feel at ease speaking "live".
