I guess they don't actually want our money.

@oblomov OK, the only one passing my initial scrutiny was @tuxedocomputers - I haven't checked recently, but you might want to have a look and form your own opinion anyway.
I think they ship from Germany, so no particular difficulty getting things to Italy (or to France, in my case).

But I'm not convinced by Linux on ARM, and as for RISC-V, it's much better but I found things which don't work on it (yet). So for me it would be a "take note, but not now".

No, pine64 devices are not playing in the same league as #framework or @tuxedocomputers@linuxrocks.online at all. They're closer to being "toys for tinkerers" than productivity machines.

That said, I bought a PineTab2 and (now that hackers have got the wifi working) it's actually serviceable, especially at its price.

PS: Sorry @pine64@treehouse.systems , I linked the old fediverse account... leaving fosstodon for treehouse.systems certainly is a green flag.

I am already familiar with the @pine64 products (bought the “double PineTime” kit) and yeah, I'm a big fan of the company and their products, but they are definitely not the kind of products that I'd look for to replace my current laptop.
