wow i don't know where to go. mastodon-wise i mean. i like the furry/queer domains but they also tend to be small which means they tend to limit m.s which means i don't see replies from various people there...
also everyone has rules that you have to cw smut even though the software already has a checkbox for smut specifically. i was thinking about dropping the smut-only side account but my experience with mastodon and porn has just been exhausting and i can feel myself becoming exhausted again merely thinking about it

seven years of mastodon and there is still no way to opt into "boobs" while opting out of "war". they just get lumped into the same basket of "posts are email now"

@eevee working on it slowly, there's been no funding for it though, but the ActivityPub Trust & Safety Taskforce is working on a FEP for content labelling (first-party at first, then third-party) which would allow for self-labelling of content with various themes (and eventually third-party labellers that can be opted-into)

@eevee basically you shouldn't need to self-censor in order for others to choose not to see your content.

@aeva Likely so. I have more experience reading spectrograms and theory, and less implementing it from scratch. The starting points I've read often skip the feedback system entirely and focus straight in on the two-pole resonant filter. A lot of the magic is in the psychoacoustics of the F1 and F2 resonant frequencies. You can make a lot of different waveforms sound like vowels with those.

The parachute sequence is absolutely too long, but it is genuinely really well done. The fact that it mostly exists to have an excuse to show a bunch of ladies with their skirts blowing in the wind is unfortunate considering the level of skill with which it was accomplished.

@Migueldeicaza I was surprised to learn it's the highest earning film Pitt has made. I don't think it's his best but it's probably in the top five. Very entertaining, a classic sort of film. A little long, but good pacing, anyway. And, in a world where nearly all blockbusters are made for children, it's refreshing to see a big action movie not based on a comic book.
