Something I am not comfortable with yet: the friction between
1) bring your phone to the protest so you can record abuses by the regime
2) leave your phone at home because the regime can use the data trail to scoop you up later
I think maybe I'm going to bring several pens and a stack of 3x5 cards to the next protest for people that want to exchange information in sensible ways. Last thing I went to, people on FB were trying to connect with those who weren't, Signal vs. non-Signal, etc.

Really, I suppose the answer is get a dedicated camera that does not connect to the internet (or at least can be turned on/off) and bring that rather than a phone. AND paper. 2/2
