Keep that *especially* in mind right now, as the proliferation of surveillance companies has never threatened our social fabric and security and safety than it does today.

This concern isn't the same if you're running machine learning models locally. There are other concerns then, but surveillance isn't necessarily one of them (in most circumstances).

Even local machine learning models will do an "ET phone home" for updates periodically.
What may be communicated back to the vendor is unknown.
Every interaction on a cell phone, Windows 11 or Microsoft 355 machine is at risk of being recorded & communicated back to the vendor, even if the user has made every effort to shut off AI, Copilot, Recall, etc.

@Npars01 Yes, I should clarify, I mean models that actually run fully locally using FOSS tools.
