One of the overlooked efficiencies of a UBI is that all of the bureaucracy would also evaporate. Remember, bureaucracy only exists to deny services. Not only would the benefit seekers' time be recovered, but the bureaucrats could be put to better use! -

It's in the interest of the business that only exists to provide this specific type of bureaucracy for it to remain, while getting further complex so they can upsell or increase prices.

@DGI UNLESS capitalists continue to exist. If that's the case, they will just increase prices to steal every bit of that UBI for themselves.
Example: everyone gets a UBI of, I don't know, $3,000 a month. All prices go up so that every single person is paying $3,000 more every month for everything they need. Realistically it would probably go up four or five thousand just to make sure that people were suffering and couldn't live, but in any case the effect would be for that universal income to go straight into the capitalist's pockets.
As long as we let those fuckers live, they will continue to do everything they can to kill us.
