@MicroSFF Even without binos they would be useful to surmount a moat or flee a prison.

@fiee @MicroSFF they would be quite useful to catch a train you are just a bit too late for, especially when you can see the platform from the street, but have to walk all around the station to get to it
I may have wished for teleportation in the visual range quite a number of times back when I commuted :D

Ha funzionato, ho ripreso a leggere e finalmente qualcosa che mi sta appassionando. Nell'ultimo periodo non trovavo niente, neanche tra quelli che attendono pazientemente nella mia libreria.

@scottjenson I have an interest in making experimental window managers for Linux, but I'm under the impression such a project is a significant undertaking in engineering effort. Is that generally correct? Is there a way forward for small time hobby experimentation, or is this sort of thing pretty much the exclusive territory of large organizations now days?

it's not only distance here it's altitude, too (posting this from around 3m below sea level). And yes at foggy weather ship horns can regularly be heard here.Maybe a night bird or some kind of noctural animal... Fog is like a low pass filter and distorts and muffles noises...
