Goodmorning!
In December we got toddler a little cargo bike. Since then every morning when we arrive in our utility room they carefully carry their bottle to the little bike, place it, and drive around.
When we're ready to leave they cheerfully get up and move to be the cargo of the full sized cargo bike.
It melts my heart every single time.
Anyway. Here's to hoping you find something to melt your heart this week! 🙂

@Pepijn unsolicited advice, but both our kids got "løbecykler" around.. 3 yrs? and they had no issues moving from there to regular pedal bikes without training wheels. It's like cheat codes for learning to ride a bike.

@mk I have no problems with any well intended advice 🙂
We got a "løbecykler" as well. Our toddler (bit over two yrs old) is a bit short for their age though so I figured this could be a little stop gap.
Turns out even on this bike the seat has to be so low that peddling is difficult..

@Pepijn yeah, two might be a bit early, even for tall kids. (:
When my now 15yo got their first bike I got yelled at after just a few seconds. "LET GO DAD! LET GO!!!!" so I complied, and to my amazement the otherwise obligatory asphalt rash failed to manifest. In fact.. I have no recollection of them ever falling on their bike.
When I was a kid all of these things always ended with "YOU PROMISED YOU WOULDN'T LET GO!!!" and tears and blood.

@stefano @forgetpassword hello yes I am the FreeBSD implementation maintainer. Their deployment/configuration tooling is heavily dependent on Debian/systemd, so I re-implemented it with a self-contained Chef cookbook
it's fully compatible and about 95% identical. A few minor changes are made like keeping the scheduled maintenance jobs as crons as they migrated to systemd timers.

@obsurveyor I love programming, been doing it for over 2 decades, and I feel it's being pulled away from us, marginalized, as if AI can simply replace us. It's sad...
My son loves making games, but should I encourage him, or persuade him to pursue a different career...

@forgetpassword hello! This is currently running on Debian (that's why I'm not promoting it as an "official" BSD Cafe service) but I've had good results with the @feld script to install it on FreeBSD: my secondary server is doing great. When I'll have enough time, I'll migrate the BSD Cafe one to FreeBSD 🙂
