Morning Star grocery had a surprising selection of stuff

They had purple sweet potatoes which I absolutely had to get some of. We will have them for dinner

They had Sriracha which I had to ask them about, the Amish guy said they had a case donated to them and and my father asked if any Amish actually eat it. He said they do sometimes and that it makes his tongue tingle and gives him hiccups but that it's good on some stuff.

When he rung us up I was impressed by the use of a mechanical calculator with a paper recipt that printed the calculation as it did it. He explained that they are actually imported from germany and that he payed 400$ for this one but that it's indestructible and lasts a life time. I asked what happens if it breaks and he said there is a local Amish man who fixes them.

Putting the Amish purple sweet potatoes in the oven for my travel tomorrow!

The sweet potatoes were amazing, like nothing else I have had. They leaked this neon pink purple gooz while they baked the consistency of honey. And they were surprisingly dark and slightly astringent. Sorta closer to a baked purple carrot.
