    briankrebs@infosec.exchange this is what I absolutely love about the AP dev space. There's so much trust in other servers not reporting absolutely bogus numbers, that it's literally a surprise when someone does something like this... or that time I posted something with a timestamp one year in the future and had my post stuck at the top of "recent" in perpetuity. It reminds me of a simpler time when we trusted things sent via protocols because malicious users wouldn't abuse it... Pretty please! mcc@mastodon.social

    OK, animation with overlay sprites is confusing. It seems like it makes sense to group the overlay with the sprite it overlays...so you can increment a, umm, pointer or whatever you call it in assembly, and have the offset remain the same always. So, each frame in an animation displays two sprites adjacent to each other in memory.But, what if the overlay is re-used? If I have two different little guys who have the same outline, but different multicolor, I can no longer count on adjacency.
