I find I much prefer posts about #politics when they're “dry”, limited to #reporting facts and context. The more they try to drive an emotional charge in the reader («OMG LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID! ISN'T IT DRAMATIC, ISN'T IT SAD? HOW COULD THEY EVER EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING SOMETHING THAT!») the more I find it annoying and detracting. I actually lose interest in even learning about what's being discussed rather than finding my interest stoked, and the only emotion they arouse in me is «oh shut up».

And yes, I mean «detracting» not «distracting». It detracts from the quality of the reporting, and it diminishes my interest not by moving it elsewhere but by covering it in excess.

@gecco @ndo sospetto che una parte sostanziale del problema sia questa dicotomia tra una coscienza del fatto che certi comportamenti sono sostanzialmente “sbagliati” (o socialmente inaccetabili), e la convinzione che l'ubriachezza non solo aiuti a rimuovere i freni inibitori, ma possa (per questo) fungere da “scusa”. E purtroppo la gamma di tali comportamenti viaggia dai moralmente riprovevoli (tipo l'inneggio allo stupro) ai banali (es è incredibile lo stigma che ha ancora il ballo).
