On the increasing prevalence of #DarkMode in software:
I find “dark mode” themes really unpleasant to use, especially when reading or editing text. I greatly prefer (high contrast) dark foreground/light background.
For context:
- I have pretty much perfect, uncorrected vision
- I use very high quality monitorsSurely I can't be unique? Why has everything started to use “dark mode” by default over the last few years?

@krans this is where some kind of global user preference setting becomes important, so that programs can default to the global user preference
