can you all stop promoting homophobic and transphobic alternatives to Firefox

yeah slopware means genai is used in any way in the project@lumi@snug.moe @bri7@social.treehouse.systems Oof. Yeah, reading this i don't like it at all. I don't want to hear about your micro prompt-engineering and how impressive it is and why that's the reason your use of AI is ok.
i can forgive something like Fluxer recently which used it almost completely for rubberducking and talked far more about reviewing the code and making sure it fit with the existing code so it was human-readable, because despite openly saying AI was used to help speed things up it
A) disclosed ethical concerns even THEY had with the use of it and
B) Focused far more on the practical end-result and making sure it was safe, function, and on ethics, than how the AI was used, and
C) openly said "there should be far less, if not no AI-touched code added going forward with all the recent focus on the platform and with code contributions open" -

"AI-bro" than here.
This feels like AI slopaganda -

This feels like AI slopaganda@buncube @bri7@social.treehouse.systems i am not sure how i will be judging this going forward. i really want to have a 0-tolerance to genai, as there are so many reasons why all of it is awful
that being said, having a 0-tolerance is a difficult thing to do, because i really don't want to wrongly accuse anyone, and i don't think crucifying individuals is the way to fix any of this. sending strong signals against it and rallying public support is. standing in solidarity with artists, writers, translators, etc is also very important here. we need a united front against it
i don't feel like it's good to use it to write boilerplate either. for that you can write specialized codegen tools. i sincerely believe there is no ethical use for genai. am i going to crucify the author for their choices? no. but it does make me very uncomfortable with endorsing the project
it is my wish that eventually we can have an explicitly queer, leftist, free and decentralized platform. free of any of this bs -

I agree completely
only problem is its a hard stance to take specifically in Fluxer's case because i am so vehemently anti-Discord because of its business partnership and advertising for AI platforms
and fluxer's design principles- at least once federation is a thing- seem to allow users the tools to deny storage and hosting and financial power to Fluxer itself, anyway, so im just here like, thinking... if it really is a worry, i cant see why you cant just self-hosst it past that point
fluxer is pretty much the only thing designed to provide a viable solution to other Discord alternatives' UX problems, feature parity, and centralization issues -

till then, i'm not really interested in it. xmpp, deltachat and matrix work well enough for me
i realize that there is a bit of a double standard here because these are all things i started using before genai started infesting everything. tho that being said, the infestation in those projects is 0 to minimal -

unfortunately it isnt that way for me and others, so we're simply left scrounging for the least-unethical option -

kinda why polyproto intrigues me -

@lumi netsurf, brave, ladybird/serenity, and (maybe) vivaldi

I actually like Vivaldi in principle, my only (and large) issue with it is that its rendering engine is just Blink (but as far as Blink-based browsers go, it is the best).
suckless wrote surf, not netsurf.
This is netsurf:
https://www.netsurf-browser.org/
which has its own rendering engine.
This is surf:
which is the suckless webkit-based thing.
