Weird to think in the 1940s and 50s toxic masculinity took the guise of tap-dancing

I'm not saying it's ever OK - I'm just saying that perhaps instead of MMA fighting and weapons we could bring back complicated dance routines. Teach our angry sons choreography. Get all these stupid preening mogger influencers to try and out-tap one another. Social standing based on who has the fanciest shoes.
@TheBreadmonkey I regret to report that dancing and collecting shoes for clout is a lot of what the youths are up to today on the TikTok

@TheBreadmonkey I always quite enjoyed that the Jets and the Sharks mainly solved their difference with finger clicking and assertive dancing.

@TheBreadmonkey my Dad was an amazing dancer at weddi. He said growing up in 60s Glasgow you either learned to fight or dance. He almost combined the two at my uncle’s wedding when the bride got overexcited and managed to whack him under his chin.

@TheBreadmonkey throwing a small serious bomb into this - I work with a project delivering modern dance in the young offenders (18-25 year old) prison setting.
Have been in to watch performances and chat with the young lads. Absolutely incredible, transformational work.
Daily Heil would loath it of course but it's literally saving lives.

I was on board until the shoes, we don't want to make yet another money measuring contest
I was thinking about who could design the fanciest pattern and draw it on with pen. Like me and my DMs and band names when I was 14. Whatever the tap dancing equivalent of Metallica is.

@ygathgoch @TheBreadmonkey that's how capoeira was born. Also I'm sure there's some Ranma episode about a Dancing School of Martial Arts
