Hi, I’m José. Just moved over from Twitter.
I’m a software engineer based in the UK. At work I build distributed systems in Rust; outside work I experiment with languages and systems programming, and I read a lot (classics, sci-fi, history). My blog is linked in my profile (recently migrated from GitHub to Codeberg).
I love talking about low-level code, performance, and distributed systems, and anything book related.
Feel free to say hi, and I’m always happy to receive book recommendations.
@jgcoder welcoome ! :D

@grb090423 Thank you!
Ah, yes, that makes sense. I didn’t think of it when I posted. I’ll have to figure out how all of this works!

Welcome! Yes, follow hashtags to get started then follow the interesting people who use them.
My book recommendation for you is The Sea is not made of water, by Adam Nicholson. It’s not about software; it’s about the sea (obviously) but also ecology, history, memory, folklore, poetry, autobiography, economics … in other words it’s about complexity and how systems evolve.
So it is about software after all.
