My bike guy said I could drop off my bike for snow tire installation today or tomorrow. The sun was coming out, so I ditched work and went right away. My husband got into the spirit of it, and he ended up getting a secondhand bike for snow tire installation too. By next week we should be winter cycling!
And then we went to a nearby park for a walk. Another cold and beautiful day.

@jerzone omigod omigod omigod I don't think I'll ever be as adventurous as you and your family/friends. I'll mostly just take the bike path to and from work đ

@dillyd I don't know if others do this, but I like to test out the bike/studs/footwear on ice at the beginning of the year. Lower the seat (I have dropper post, but you can manually do it, just mark normal position with sharpie) so feet can easily and quickly touch the ground (good boots, even spikes if you have them). Then bike along snow and edges of ice to get a feel for it, nothing fast. Howâs braking, howâs turning, how's reaction time to put a foot out? Venture a bit further into small ice patch if you're comfortable. I do this with the car too, much rather try all of the âthings" in a controlled fashion rather than in a panic later on.
Have fun! -
