A friend shared some Northern Ontario raven lore I was unfamiliar with until now. He remarked that he had seen a raven with a stick in it's mouth a few days prior to last weekend. Common ravens are apparently considered to be harbingers of spring, often beginning to build or repair their massive stick nests in late February, well before many other birds, which coincides with the transition from winter to an early spring. Hang in there guys, almost there. The snow depth though!
