However... This is an unreliable train on an unreliable route. So what will happen?

How did we do? Pretty good, surprisingly. Apparently, Most of us were a bit too pessimistic. No lights in the middle of the night, bed linen collected only upon arrival and a delay of 20 mins only. And it's sunny in Hamburg! ☀️ 🤯
But now, which train to take? I have no idea yet...

#NebulousNorthThe EC to Copenhagen is still worked with DB IC stock. Too bad, I was hoping to try the new Talgo units. Well then, a little detour it is. The quirky Bombardier "Married Pair" units on the RE to Westerland must be one of the most comfortable regional trains in Germany, at least in 1st class.

#NebulousNorthThere's a little Christmas market in the centre, which is rather lively. I'd say about 3/4 of the people in the street speak German. And there are also a few cafés, which means I'll skip another train for a Kanelsnurre, as predicted by @K1ngdaKa88. Although it was a bit weird to order it in German, this was an extraordinarily good one! 😋

And there are also a few cafés, which means I'll skip another train for a Kanelsnurre, as predicted by @K1ngdaKa88. Although it was a bit weird to order it in German, this was an extraordinarily good one! 😋
#NebulousNorthBack to the station. The German trains are running again. For a short moment, I ponder about going to Niebüll and back again. But no, who knows what'll happen. So up North it is. The GoCollective rolling stock always seems a bit neglected to me.

An MJ "Desiro" arrives and the GoCollective service to Vejle is delayed by 24 minutes. But I don't care, my Interrail will remain inactive today as I'm going to take a bus. Many of which are electric here, btw.

They are currently phased out, I didn't know for sure if some of them do still run. Apparently, they do. 🥰

To give you an impression of how much of a close call this is: Apparently, H.M. the King will inaugurate the new battery trains this Friday (!) and there will be a little farewell ceremony for the Lynette. Phew!

Phew!

#NebulousNorthOff we go. Again, there's nobody in my carriage, as we trundle through the empty landscapes. The diesel engine hums quietly and the heating radiates that cosy and slightly too warm heat, that you only find in old trains. Absolutely perfect! 🥰 This alone was worth the trip.
