It was always about "Engagement" & marketing.
10 years ago, I was doing AI language models (actual models) for a startup, and met w/ tons of funding groups.
Here is a run-down of what they wanted:
1. Snuggles the Fabric Softener Chatbot
2. Put it in a toaster
3. Make it so I can talk to Barak Obama
4. Can it be made to look like ... a beautiful woman? -
