Hey Fedi, bit of printer advice please....I'm looking for replacement label printers - we used to use Dymo 450 but they were EOL'd a while back and the new software's a bin-fire. Any subsequent Dymos have DRM'd consumables so we can't use non-Dymo labels, cos Dymo are bastards.Ideally we want something with a wired LAN interface, or that I can hook into CUPS on a Pi to network-print given a PDF. Font experts! For a parody of AI slop cartoon images, I need a font that looks like the lettering you see in those images. A while ago I thought I'd identified one that the machines had probably ingested to make lettering-like output, but I didn't write it down and now I can' find it. @FruitConsumer government mailing the tokens out would make distribution easier, especially in remote locations that might not be able to easily access storefronts. But how can we make it so that the we know the government isn’t storing information about which tokens they send to who? They would have an incentive to secretly store that info for later spying, so we’d need a way transparent way to ensure that there’s no funny business

We are 100% volunteer, and we produce a few different series of events throughout the year. We need better ways to communicate with (paid) members and (unpaid) “friends”.What platform/tools could I use to, for example, let someone RSVP or express interest in an event series, check the box to get auto reminders and text notifications re: all events in that series. For example: “event is tomorrow at 9am. See you there!” or “it’s raining! We’re meeting at x instead.”Ideally this platform could also do email. One-off campaigns/blasts with simple segmentation (members and/or friends) and maybe some automations (like a welcome flow for new members).We can pay a reasonable amount; doesn’t have to be FOSS/self-hosted/linux/etc. 😜(I’ve asked a similar question here before, but I think we have made progress clarifying our specific needs.)

I've done something that could either be seen as clever, or as silly. I wrote a poem that outlines my skills and experience from my resume. So it's basically a resume video. I thought about posting it to my socials, but I don't want that to hinder my chances in finding a job. It would have gone on TikTok, INstagram, Facebook and Linkedin. @dashdsrdash Ah. Yeah, he has scratchy boxen (and gets praised for using them), but he's also playful/got a strong prey drive. I'm pretty sure he claws the screens when there's something he wants to mess with on the other side.I can try putting a 'nip-laced scratchy box on the casement window sill, though. Maybe that'll distract him.

@Tourma imo optical media players are an item that warrants spending a little extra. From what I've gathered, most cheap ones are pure doodoo. That being said, I recommend 220-electronics because they're the only (AFAIK) place to get legit region-unlocked ones. https://www.220-electronics.com/collections/region-free-blu-ray-playersBut the prices are not for the faint of heart.
