This collection brings together benches and nearby street elements that quietly suggest affection, care, memory, or presence. From a Christmas-time intervention highlighting homelessness in Birmingham to playful lamp posts, heart-shaped seating, painted messages, and sculptural benches that turn reading or resting into part of the artwork, each piece uses familiar public furniture to communicate something personal.More: Creative Benches (27 Photos)1. Love Is Here BenchA metal bench carries a weathered sign reading “LOVE IS HERE,” mounted against a brick wall. The worn surface suggests long-term exposure and everyday use.2. Love BenchA sculptural bench spells the word “Love,” with red interior details following the curves of the letters. The piece functions both as seating and as a freestanding object placed in a park setting.3. Open Book BenchesConcrete benches are shaped like open books, with printed text running across the seating surface. The repetition creates a small reading landscape integrated into a pedestrian area.4. Umbrella Lamp BenchA street lamp bends over a bench while holding an open umbrella, suggesting protection from rain. The installation combines standard street furniture into a single scene.5. Leaning Street LampsTwo lamp posts tilt toward each other beside a bench, creating the impression of interaction. The altered posture gives the objects a human-like presence.6. Heart Frame BenchA white frame with a suspended red heart surrounds a wooden bench. The installation is placed in a green, open landscape and invites people to sit inside the heart shape.7. Red Heart BenchA wooden bench painted bright red features simple white heart shapes along the backrest. The piece is placed along a path bordered by trees and greenery.8. Reindeer Sleigh Bench — Banksy in Birmingham, UKA stenciled mural of Santa’s reindeer appears to pull a real bench forward, turning it into a sleigh. The work was created beside a man sleeping on the bench, linking the festive imagery directly to homelessness during the winter period. More: Banksy? Who Is The Visionary of Street Art? • Idea pazzerella: Gancio Varese?

(mostre, spettacoli etc). Allora perde di significato?

  • "It’s been another terrible week for the Washington Post. The newsroom is bracing for a devastating round of layoffs, with rumors flying that some desks may be shuttered entirely.

Sportswriters were stunned to learn they would no longer be attending the Winter Olympics in Italy (management later reversed course, saying a small contingent would cover the event), while the Post’s foreign correspondents have been pleading with owner Jeff Bezos to spare their department in desperate posts on X, noting the groundbreaking work they’ve done in Ukraine, the Middle East, Venezuela, and elsewhere at a time when Donald Trump’s foreign policy activity has been frenetic. For the time being, no one knows how deep the cuts will actually be, but staffers are anticipating around 100 job losses in the roughly 800-person newsroom alone. One staffer told me that “every desk is allegedly losing jobs.” The expectation is they’ll hit next week.

The ostensible reason for the layoffs is that the Post, like many other newspapers, is losing money. But unlike other newspapers, the Post is also in the midst of a demoralizing destruction of its brand that has alienated hundreds of thousands of subscribers and left even its staff unsure what the paper is trying to do, both journalistically and business-wise. “I’m increasingly finding it hard to justify the cuts from a journalistic perspective,” said one staffer. “Of course, financially, the Post is in a deep hole and I understand that. But some of that hole, if not a lot of it, is because of Jeff Bezos.”"

  • @max @fediverso @_elena Serverplan! Adesso me l'hanno risolto e... Mi dispiace anche, l'idea di andarmene. Per un altro anno infatti credo che tengo il servizio, fin che non passo tutto di qua. Ma mi piacerebbe lasciargli anche qualcosa di scritto, sul fediverso!
