Too much of the talk about Mullvad, Proton and company has focused on the "I don't want to funnel money to fascists" and not the other huge issue, which is that by tolerating this at the highest levels of a company, it fundamentally compromises the trustworthiness of the company when that company is ultimately responsible for a stream or repository of sensitive user data.
