#BoxyBSD chat is now also available in #irc! People asked for old school possibilities to take part on the BoxyBSD chat and here we go! Finally, you can also simply join #BoxyBSD on Libera (next to your #FreeBSD channels)! This bridge was written by @gyptazy to support additional chat communications.Important: This IRC channel is bridged between #Discord and #Matrix to have a unified communications flow without splitting the community. If you don't like Discord, please don't join this channel!Infos about how to connect by IRC to Libera IRC:- https://libera.chat/guides/connect#FreeBSD #OpenBSD #NetBSD #DragonflyBSD #MidnightBSD #OpenSolaris #Debian #FreeVPS #VPS #FreeVM #VirtualMachines #OpenSource #BSD #RUNBSD
Pssst! BoxyConnect comes soon to @BoxyBSD! BoxyConnect allows you to create a private network / private link between multiple boxes at BoxyBSD. And the best? You can even create this over different locations/countries to provide you more flexibility. You can simply assign any RFC1918 addresses on your new additional network interface on both sites and communicate in your own private network - even miles away. This feature is currently in beta and will hopefully be available to everyone (just like all other services of course for free). Enjoy #RUNBSD! This new feature is powered by @gyptazy! #BoxyBSD #FreeBSD #NetBSD #OpenBSD #DragonflyBSD #MidnightBSD #SmolBSD #Hosting #SelfHosting #Provider #BSD #FreeVPS #VPS #opensource #community #education #openeducation

@PortaFed @julian Why wouldnt the whole export object be signed? If an object is missing, the merkle root wouldnt match and you wouldnt be able to do partial validation anyway. I could have missed something on the strategy there
@jonny@julian You're right on all three points. Updated the spec: destination_did is now optional the backup-before-shutdown case is the primary use case and requiring a destination in advance was a mistake. Added Section 5.1 explaining why the Merkle tree exists alongside per-object signatures: the signatures prove per-object authenticity but not completeness. A Merkle root over the full set detects silently dropped objects. Added Section 8 explicitly scoping this as an export/import substrate
@redhotcyber oibò, non mi sorprende per nulla, visto che l'azienda proviene dal #RegnoDiMezzo dove danno un diverso valore alla riservatezza delle persone. Ottimo motivo per #Evitare#TikTok
