@ingobecker @jerzone @tinx I use a spray product called Corrosion-X to remove and prevent rust aboard my boat, which lives in a saltwater environment. I think it might be something worth considering for a bike chain or any metal part that is susceptible to rust. @szakib ok so you know that! If it is option for you try to search the second hand market - some people just don't like it/ think that it's fork replacement and are selling it off.

@WilliamNB I still think it's a tradeoff. Not reaching a spot within your ability may still happen if you have something unforeseen coming up, like a flat tire or waking up in a bad mood or meeting a traveler you want to spend more time with.Can't remove stress from that without being comfortable with plan B.For a beginner, I'd add: cycle close to train lines if possible. Those offer a bailout option if stress gets too high.

Sunday cycling in the forest. The birds are mostly silent (but we came across a few, e.g. long-tailed tit, goldcrest, black woodpecker, or kingfisher).
