The #SAVE Act, if passed as written, will remove the right to vote from anyone who has changed their name. Everyone in the country will be Unregistered To Vote, and will have to reregister, In Person (!) before the deadline for November elections. If you are a man, you will need a certified copy of your birth certificate. If you are a married woman, you will need certified copies of your birth certificate AND your marriage license. You will need to present those AND your ID at the polling place, every time you want to vote. Every time. I think I’m gonna start a PAC that will pay the filing fee for every woman who wants to divorce her republican husband or needs to go to court to have her name changed back to birth name.
