I’ve got a better idea how to "declutter" Windows 11: Not using Windows. 🤯Seriously, it's getting ridiculous at this point with how much shit #Microsoft believes it can get away with. Also, I love the notion that we're supposed to just accept that Windows ships with #bullshit by default. 🙃I've been using #FreeSoftware on my computers for years and I can't remember having to deal with ANY bullshit like this since then. I regret nothing. ✊#proprietary #AI #OperatingSystem

🚨 AI is a billion dollar bet. And Big Tech wants YOU to pay for it. Now Microsoft got sued for tricking users to pay 45% more for its AI. 🚨👉🏼 Australia’s competition regulator says Microsoft misled around 2.7 million users into paying more for Microsoft 365 when offering its AI Copilot.Find out more: https://tuta.com/blog/microsoft-price-hike-because-of-ai#Microsoft #AI #Microsoft356 #Australia

#Microsoft is clearly becoming desperate due to low adoption rates of #Copilot.Apparently, Microsoft is now pushing Copilot to all #Microsoft365 personal subscribers and calling it a "subscription price increase". Only when you decide to cancel your subscription are you presented with the option to switch to "Microsoft 365 Personal Classic" without Copilot (and nearly the old price). The classic plan is not presented as an option unless you try to cancel your subscription. This is a classic scammy trick: Modify the existing plan and add the feature no one wants and hide the old plan from view. Presto, now you have an insane adoption rate you can present to investors as a great success.I personally don't use Microsoft subscription services, so I don't know if they tried this bullshit in the EU, but if they did, they're asking for trouble. They got sued in Australia over this already: https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/microsoft-in-court-for-allegedly-misleading-millions-of-australians-over-microsoft-365-subscriptions "Microsoft in court for allegedly misleading millions of Australians over Microsoft 365 subscriptions"EDIT: It seems that at least in some areas/situations the "classic" non-AI version is actually even more expensive. This isn't exactly making the situation any better of course.

In 2025 AI still requires you to watch it do it's work and catch it early before it goes fully off the rails, like driving a Tesla. That's impossible in the github UI. It doesn't help that the MS engineers are shit a prompting ("tests are failing, please fix" is way way too vague) but the whole idea of doing it through github is doomed from the start.

No matter how you slice it, as I see it, it boils down to: Microsoft's software did insufficient input validation on untrusted data (specifically in this case configuration changes for one customer, it seems), and this led to widespread outages affecting many, many, *many* customers in many different ways.Security done properly should not rely on "blocking erroneous" stuff, but should verify that everything is good and only *if* that succeeds allow any of it through.@spytfyre @rysiek
