@Oxymetheus or people just operating out of their front room, even. no good for me here in a flat, but the last two places i lived i could have quite conveniently set up the front door as a kiosk front, and fielded people bringing me stuff to sharpen / rethread / mend without too much trouble. the biggest problem i would have encountered would've been the clauses in my tenancy agreement prohibiting me from running a business from my home - well, after the rather substantial skills issue that makes it a non-starter anyway ;-)
