I had to fix the Slackware 15.0 git repositoryRecently, and unexpectedly, I noticed a lot of errors in the output of the script which populates the git repository for Slackware. Specifically, when it updated the "15.0" branch which tracks the updates in Slackware 15.0. I did an evening of troubleshooting and fixing. Somehow, the root user had dumped a copy of Slackware-current in the checked-out directory containing the Slackware 15.0 branch...#Slackware #git https://blog.slackware.nl/i-had-to-fix-the-slackware-15-0-git-repository/
Updated ‘ktown’ packages, and a heads-upTime for a KDE Plasma6 package refresh. On KDE's announcement page, the releases of KDE Gear 26.04.1 and Frameworks 6.26.0 were announced yesterday and today. Since OS packagers have early access to the source tarballs, I had everything compiled and ready for days and could simply push everything into my 'ktown' repository today.#Slackware #Plasma6 #Forgejo #OIDC https://blog.slackware.nl/updated-ktown-packages-and-a-heads-up/
New KDE Frameworks and Plasma packagesKDE just announced the KDE Frameworks 6.25.0, and earlier this week they came with Plasma 6.6.4. I built the packages for those new releases - targeting Slackware -current of course. Along with these updates I also refreshed KleverNotes, Krita, Kstars and Okteta to their latest versions. You can find the packages in my 'ktown' repository...#Slackware #KDE #Plasma6 https://blog.slackware.nl/new-kde-frameworks-and-plasma-packages/
@alien Pipewire is pretty on top of stuff, it seems, so I would aim to try that first. Pain point for me has been that you deal with Pipewire at user level, rather than a system service, so some documentation has become dated, all over the place.
KDE 6_26.02 for Slackware-currentToday I released a fresh batch of KDE Plasma6 packages for 32bit and 64bit Slackware-current to my 'ktown' repository. You will find these packages at the origin location: together with an expansive README which will help you remove KDE Plasma5 from your Slackware-current computer and install the 'ktown' version of KDE Plasma6 instead.https://blog.slackware.nl/kde-6_26-02-for-slackware-current/#Slackware #KDE #Plasma6
My own little corner of the #fediverse is officially live! I just migrated my old user @9tom@mastodon.social to my own #snac instance @thoe@snac.9space.no and it went surprisingly smooth. Now I just have to keep the old #slackware server humming!
