@tomasino Not to take away from your point, but on PC, you can go to GOG instead. You can download games from anywhere that sells them or gives them away. That CD with SimCity 2000 is still good, provided your OS still supports it, but even then you can change that too!You have no such option with #Sony. They control everything on that device, much like an #iPhone. Taking away physical media is the final nail in the coffin for actually owning anything on the platform

@SamuraiSakura even the ps3 linux was fun.I remember running too many simplified programs on the spus.Oh wait I was a gcc maintainer for spu before I stepped down after leaving Sony when Sony stopped support the 2nd os option.
