@peteorrall I would double check if that's not the problem with keyboard. Sounds like clicked button or combination. If you can, take out and unplug the keyboard from the motherboard. Then plug in random USB keyboard and check if it behaves the same. Invasive solution but you can be sure that it's not the laptop keyboard.

@mos_8502 I have to maintain a bunch of actual deb packages for my employer, because the snap version does shit like this. chromium is one of them (and not even for this specific reason, it's fucked in other ways, too), this is just an ARM dev box and I haven't made a regular chromium deb for it yet, but snap is here to remind me why I have to.

Is there any way to access my files if I can't login as myself? My standard login suddenly gives me a flashing, crazy screen with no interaction except a moving cursor. But I can still login from a USB as a live session user, so I wondered if I could get to those files from there. I've been trying to use su - in the terminal but it doesn't recognize my actual username. I really need to rescue some files from this computer. What's the common wisdom regarding #Ubuntu #Linux and systemd-resolved, dnsmasq, and NetworkManager?Had a weird thing happen where a #Wireguard tunnel didn't go up but DNS was still trying to connect to the DNS server over the WireGuard tunnel and was failing. Is there any way to stop the DNS madness? It looks like they're both clobbering each other.
