@dazo First, please don't get me wrong: Like anyone else, I don't want my data to be sold, and at the very last by the browser I've been using as my daily driver for anything internet for years.But the question I can't find a viable answer for is: How can Firefox become a sustainable organization?Selling our data is a no-go, that's for sure. But how do they make the money required to not only maintain but also invest in Firefox?

@oblomov @Wuzzy Video storage is very expensive. 10mins of reading text is less than a megabyte (much less), 10mins of watching video will be much more depending on the bitrate. Even audio streaming can be very expensive very quickly.

@dawid Indeed, switching from Instagram to the Fediverse initially feels like abandoning your friends for ideological reasons and moving to the desert. After a year of switching, very few of my friends have made the move to the Fediverse, which is really sad. But I've found completely new friends and am learning different things.
