@karlailona I am likewise fed up with American social media as well as American media, American society, and most other American things. I blame my European great-grandparents for exiling me here in the USA. Mastodon is far more cosmopolitan and civilized than US social media (despite a poll I recently conducted on the pull-my-finger prank being one of the most popular topics I have ever introduced on Mastodon).

Mastodon is far more cosmopolitan and civilized than US social media (despite a poll I recently conducted on the pull-my-finger prank being one of the most popular topics I have ever introduced on Mastodon).
@JosephMeyer Haha, the US isn’t exactly being viewed too positively right now. The whole world order seems to be shifting, curious to see how it turns out!
I’ve only been using Mastodon (is that the right way to say it? I also see ‘in the fediverse’ a lot 😅) for a few days, and I’m amazed by how different it feels without the addictive algorithms and overly engaging features! I can almost feel my brain calming down!

"The Trump White House yesterday posted a manipulated photo of Nekima Levy Armstrong, a Minnesota civil rights attorney who was arrested after protesting in a church where a pastor is allegedly also an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official.
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem posted what seems to be the original photo of Armstrong being led away by an officer yesterday morning.
