First time I’ve heard of Gush!, an activitypub based platform for sharing topical interests for video games.

  • The Discourse ActivityPub plugin is developed by a sole developer but I believe it is ready for use. I also believe he is still working on the plugin so that's positive news.

Federation with Discourse forums is tricky, it's been difficult getting NodeBB to work reliably with Discourse.

Are you able to load Discourse categories in Lemmy?

  • I found this article from earlier this year: https://blog.discourse.org/2025/04/discourse-and-the-fediverse/

However, I haven't come across that much content from Discourse platforms over here on Lemmy/Piefed. Is there more work to do with the plugins, or should we work with organizations running Discourse to help them connect with us?

For example, the threadiverse communities for OpenStreetMaps is relatively small, and being able to see / contribute to community.openstreetmap.org would be amazing.

  • First 100: BadgeFed Explorer

The verified Badge was issued to @lqdev

You ventured into uncharted territory and helped shape the BadgeFed project from the start. As one of the first 100 testers, your curiosity, feedback, and bug-finding instincts helped stabilize the platform. The fediverse will always remember your role in getting us off the ground—one crash, typo, and glorious bug report at a time.

Earning Criteria: Awarded to the first 100 individuals who actively participated in the early testing phase of BadgeFed. This includes exploring the platform, submitting feedback or bug reports, and generally poking around where things probably weren’t ready yet. These badges are limited—no retroactive claims, no reruns, no exceptions. You were here. You mattered..

  • ⚠️ Do not be HACKED !! 😱

Software updates include not only new features but also critical security fixes. To keep your site secure and stable, ensure you always use the latest version.

We frequently observe numerous sites across the Fediverse running very outdated versions of Mastodon or Misskey. Some sites are even using versions over a year old.

Be the smart administrator and keep your site up to date.

  • @trisweb @mxfraud this is being resolved before release.

  • @mxfraud yes, which will happen ahead of 4.5 being released to everyone (it is true of the release candidates that are deployed to some servers, however).

I’m setting up the ActivityPub Fuzzer. What’s not clear to me is whether or not this thing can run over localhost on two different ports or whether a proxy is required.#activitypub

@fediversereport @mackuba this is not a problem of the plugin itself. you seem to use a caching plugin that does not support Accept header variations. you can disable content negotiation in the advanced settings.if you tell me what caching plugin you use, I can also check if there might be an alternate workaround.

@pfefferle @julian @johnonolan @heathenstorm so I just tested this... I updated an old blog post (from 2023) before the site was ever federated... and it just popped up in my Mastodon feed (see photo) as if I had just published it...The blog has all the latest versions of plugins installed (ActivityPub for Wordpress included).original link: https://therealists.org/2023/04/aligning-our-life-goals-with-our-technology-use/

Release v2.4.14 of Ktistec is small in terms of features and fixes, but it improves in two areas where I thought Ktistec was weak: light/dark mode support and autosave.I'm not hardcore dark mode, but I do prefer it in some cases. Ktistec selects light or dark mode based on the browser or system setting—there is currently no means to select the mode directly. A nice side effect of light/dark mode support is that custom theming support comes nearly for free.Figure 1: Ktistec editor showing the Dracula themeKtistec was meant for writing. I post my fair share of one-line bits of wisdom, but I started building Ktistec because I wanted a space to write long form, and existing Fediverse platforms were more for social interaction. When writing long form, autosaving is an essential feature. Ktistec will now autosave draft posts and replies. If you navigate away before publishing, you can always find the incomplete draft in the Drafts collection which is accessible from your timeline page.AddedAdd design system page for previewing UI elements.Support custom themes with automatic light/dark mode switching.Add autosave functionality for new posts, draft posts, and replies.ChangedAdd external link indicators.#ktistec #fediverse #activitypub #crystallang
