Curious. This is the second time someone has told me that my electric car is a danger to wildlife and the blind because they can't hear it.
Both times this came from people who are proud to drive a fossil-fuel car, throw trash around without care, hate loudly on migrants and the poor, and de-moss their parking lots with toxins.
But when it comes to electric mobility, values suddenly matter?
I can't wait for this to no longer be the neighborhood I live in.

@rootsandcalluses Nevertheless I often wonder why they don't add an artificial sound effect to electric cars for when they are manoeuvring around car parks etc. It need not be too loud, just enough that pedestrians in the vicinity can tell if a car is behind them. (Btw I don't drive myself)

@kbm0 Because it would add more noise to the landscape. I am very glad we don't do that. Instead, people should learn to drive with a bit of awareness. When I am slow enough to make little noise, I expect everyone to miss me, And drive accordingly.
There is already too much noise in the world.

Hey nobody's talking about having a big band that pops up and play the Star Wars soundtrack.
It's just about a bip bip sound, I don't think it would add to the world noise.
