I can’t go out and protest today. I work for a government contractor and need a basic security clearance, which means my First Amendment rights are void under the current administration. (Fortunately I’m with one of the agencies they’re afraid to touch, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be fired on a whim.) And there’s part of me that would be happy to give it all away to punch a riot cop in the face, but I have 8 cats who depend on me to keep my job so we can keep this house.And I have so much rage in me right now that I could not be trusted *not* to throw punches.To everyone out there today, be strong, and be loud for those of us who can’t be there — the silenced government employees, sure, but moreso the disabled and the targeted, the ones who can’t physically be there and the ones who are the biggest targets.
