@Aprazeth sometime in my 30s my body decided i wasnt allowed to have shit-tier fast food anymore. last year i tried a handful of fast food places to see what would happen. in-n-out doesnt give me issues, i havent tried sonic yet, but bk/mcds/kfc etc, its all horrible. any food that 'doesnt rot' is highly suspect

Honestly, holding the stance of "any food that 'doesn't rot' is highly suspect" is a pretty good start.[1]I kind of had to as soon as I got that diagnosis. I tried some of their supposedly safe stuff but it was "mehhh" at best.
Flavor preferences do change as we age (science!)

guess which variant is the one my IBS tolerates, and then still only for a single glass per 2 days maximum?
It's fine. I'm fine. Everything is fine.
That said, I do recommend others to get the fresh stuff. Just soooo much better even if I can't. Kind of feel like the scene in pirates of the Caribbean where Keira gets offered all that food because they can't taste it anymore

@Aprazeth i only eat fast food incredibly rarely. usually if im forced to and have no other choice. i cook 99% of all my food these days

@Nonya_Bidniss i swapped it out for a peplink mobile router and attached that to my google fi account, where i have 100gb shared between two phones and that thing - it'll only get me 20mbit/sec, but as a backup link thats perfectly fine.

@oblomov @codinghorror I m not sure on the social stigma if it is just part of the normal tax declaration. Not sure about Italy, but here in Luxembourg we have good parental leave (6month for each parent, paid at up to 5 thirds of the minimum wage) and there is no stigma about it.

One time there was a mouse in my old apartment. We saw it scurrying around at times but never saw any other sign of it.
When we moved out, we were emptying out the pantry and pulled out the tray we toss single serving condiments packets in when we get takeout. Every packet of mayo was ripped open and licked clean and evenly other condiment completely untouched.

@pol_9000 @codinghorror I did some calculations on the situation in Italy a few years back, and it would have been quite possible for us. I'm not familiar enough with the US situation to speak about there, especially with the federal vs state system, but from a quick look at the federal budget there's something like 4 T$ devoted to social security &c, which would be what, 1.2K$/person/month if it was an UBI?

@pol_9000 @codinghorror (also if you can act on the tax rates, higher priority should be given to making the rich pay their dues through a solid progressive taxation system, which would incidentally increase the cash flow and make it easier to implement an UBI)
