Hello all We're planning to start a Peertube channel, to replace our Vimeo account, moving our videos across to the Fediverse. There are many photo music slideshows from performances (with music supplied by the musicians) and also hopefully a few cycling videos. It will feature videos by both @StevenKennard and myself (the music photography being his work).I'm a bit confused about how to go about naming an account and then channels. I want to be sure before starting as they can't be changed once you set them up. I have an instance chosen, so that's something! Can someone enlighten me please? @FediVideo @FediTips #fediHelp #PeerTube #EllieKPosts

I really need some help with some specialist knowledge. Please boost for reach.Does anyone have a detailed comparison of the carbon footprint of composting foodwaste as opposed to an anerobic digestor with the gas being collected and burnt for fuel? Background and more info.Tomorrow I'm going to be asking a question at my local District Council (UK) about their new food waste initiative. They are going to provide a new weekly food waste collection with the rollout providing new bins but also plastic bags to put food waste into. The plastic bag is be removed at the disposal facility which will be incinerated.Food waste, after the plastic bag removal will be put in an anerobic digestor with the aim to syphon off the gases for "energy use" which I'm pretty sure means burning them. Our current system is the food waste goes in our green bin and goes to a large composting facility.I'm pretty sure of my assertion that providing single use plastic bags that will be burnt will increase rather than reduce their carbon footprint. My question I can't find the answer is the following:Is it more carbon friendly to hot compost food waste or to use an anerobic digester which harvests the gases to be burnt as fuel.Does anyone have a detailed, nuanced, comparison of the carbon footprint of composting foodwaste as opposed to an anerobic digestor.Deadline to question is 20hrs (sorry for short timeframe got the original date wrong). However if you miss the deadline but have useful info I'm sure this is the first round. Please boost for reach and thank you for taking to time read this long post.#fedihelp #ClimateChange #CarbonFootprint

@GustavinoBevilacqua he may also have some unexpected luck with the multi-bit small screwdrivers sets... I just checked mine and it does have a 1.3 and 0.9 hex bit (probably actually 2 and 3 64th of an inch?)Also, maybe it's obvious but: did he check his guitar bag? I'm almost certain that my guitar came with the relevant hex keys (now, where did they end up it's an entirely different matter)

My #HomeLab has a corrupted boot disk because of a failed rebuild of btrfs. I did the rebuild, because btrfs reported errors most likely because of power outages. I thought why not try to fix this and than it failed after days of calculating, because the USB thumb drive was ejected. Quite forcefully because of a falling broom I might add. It was a whole thing.Currently in the middle of reinstalling the boot disk. But during the wait I was thinking I probably should acquire a small #UPS for my setup. Any recommendations on what one want’s to get these days? I mainly need a small one and ideally I’d want it to communicate with the server when there is a power outage to shut it down (after an appropriate time of course).#FediHelp
