@davew Did RSS feeds commonly not have titles before Google Reader? I wasn't aware of that. What did the UI show for a summary?

I love the piece Cory Doctorow wrote about RSS.
But I take exception to the idea that it's been dormant, or that Google made it work. The NYT did that. And there were lots of good if not great feed readers before Google.

And Google, by requiring titles, really mucked everything up. We're still paying the price, even though their product has been gone since 2013.

In questi giorni si è riaperta la possibilità di iscriversi alle GPS (graduatorie Provinciali per le Supplenze), il luogo virtuale in cui chi aspira a diventare insegnante nella scuola pubblica deve stare per sperare di ottenere una cattedra di supplenza per un intero anno scolastico. E con l’apertura delle GPS, inizia purtroppo anche la squallida compravendita di titoli che danno punteggio.

Since that time, our police have been trained using IDF trainers and tactics, hence the extraordinary uptick in brutality, total information control is almost fully implemented globally, and we have concentration camps on American soil, and empty ones waiting to be filled. You think the profit takers are going to leave them empty when prison slavery is still a law? Naw man, those camps are for us as soon as they run out of this week’s “them”.
