Few things grind my grumplies as much as a Smug User Of The Competition being smug about a deficiency in something,

without checking that their chosen thing has the exact same problem.

Examples:

• the zsh user who went "oh that's why I don't use bash" (about an issue with [[ that both inherited from ksh)

• the bsd user who went "that's better in termcap" (about problems with terminfo that termcap does not fix)

It's fine to like zsh, bsd and termcap. I don't, but that's alright. But please don't kid yourself about them being better when they just plain aren't.

Be honest about how your choice is better instead of just being a partisan ass.
