Fuck it, we're running Xerox Cedar on a SPARCstation ELC tonight y'all.

Cool! Is Cedar for SPARC something that's available for download somewhere? -

Thanks! I had no idea that it was included in the CHM stuff, but I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised. -

It's not the full, Xerox-internal version, this was shipped on a CSL whitepaper CD, check the readme https://xeroxparcarchive.computerhistory.org/_cdcsl_93-16_/1/.README.html. The Xerox-internal Cedar involved kernel enhancements, not just this runtime.

Ooh, it says the more sophisticated PCR version (which required the kernel mods) was available by FTP. I wonder if that's archived anywhere. (I haven't searched.)
I've always wanted to try programming in Mesa. I knew Cedar was an upgrade from it, but I wasn't expecting to ever get to try it.
I don't own a SPARC machine, so I'll have to try it in a simulator, and I've never looked into the state of those. -
