Switch to a European Map
@leanderlindahl And what about trying to use public transport with just a paper map and compass once a month?
Could be an interesting adventure, no smartphone needed, learning new skills and saves CO2.
No, sounds to crazy...

https://f-droid.org/packages/app.organicmaps@sonjdol I think I had this installed at one point. I wonder why I usually never hear organic maps mentioned, whereas comaps seems to be popular as a recommendation.

@streetcoder I feel like you have some advanced chain of though here and I missed the initial steps.

@leanderlindahl You have to pay for the premium features.

@leanderlindahl Yes, kind of. I only drive a bicycle but I tested CoMaps and OSMand for a friend driving by car.
He wanted to also have traffic information but you only get this from Google. There is a workaround to show traffic jam data in OSMand but it's not nice.
In general I would say CoMaps for car navigation but there is no complete free replacement for Googles data so I came up with the idea why not change your way of commuting to break free.
My choice is OSMand BTW.

@leanderlindahl I wouldn't know, but I just checked Here we go and it comes closest to Google Maps. I quite like it

Thanks for the headsup @aandre
We don't have an app, as it's not really needed. You can use it from your browser, and all the settings are stored in the url.
So if you create a shortlink on your mobile desktop you have the same effect as an app. š

Ah yes no worries, everybody has it's own opinion, nothing wrong with that.
I understand apps are easier, once you have them installed. Though when it's about a service you like, I don't think it should be a burdon just using a webservice.
Anyways, thanks for helping out spreading european services, every little thing helps!
