Americans are lazy about voting as it is. Weak whiny "the sky is falling!" statements just because malicious intent exists is enough to make some give up

europeans also like to tell americans to vote third party

third party in an FPTP voting system divides the left and hands MAGA a win

and the vote is controlled by the states. maybe some red states will corrupt the vote but they are already red states

europeans are entitled to speak on american politics

but europeans really need to educate themselves before they say something which only harms their own concerns

It gets even worse. Voting is usually administered at the county level. Setting aside the legalities of it all, can you imagine the federal government trying to organize tens of thousands of local elections at different times of the year on different schedules?

I would rather see it stay how it is... "make the hackers really work to scam the system"... versus only having to learn one type and location for the data.

But we do need better toughness on voting records to remain in voting districts - meaning no one can take the originals.

They can submit a FOIA and get a copy - at going $$ price... but they don't get the originals. e.g. the corruption they just foisted on Fulton County, GA.

And no voter data.

@benroyce - other truly democratic countries have arms-length federal body that runs federal elections. They provide the mechanisms / training for the election staff, they set the borders for each riding (based on giving each one approximately the same number of voters - not by skin colour or known political say) - and it’s not up to the country’s leader to direct his party to take over the election process.
That’s more along the lines of Russia or Belarus. Trump’s chums.

the usa's current problems are partly because our voting system is so antiquated. which other countries have vastly improved upon and are thus more resilient to the MAGA-like influences

but one benefit of our ancient crappy system is that it is so byzantine and locally controlled. therefore, harder for the orange turd to manipulate
