@aeva honestly idk who they're for. Normies go to Wirecutter to get bad products that don't fit their needs as well as is claimed. And serious tech people might like the data RTINGs collects but their rating scales are insane and will do stuff like prioritize having Bluetooth over headphone quality or other wild things like that

@Lunaphied @aeva My biggest complaint with RTINGs was for a long time the way they tested Bluetooth latency was terrible.
They had different latency measurements for PC, iOS, and Android... and PC was always way, way worse. But also sometimes the latency was _negative_ on iOS and that told me they were doing something really wrong.

@Lunaphied @aeva I had a suspicion I knew exactly what they were doing, so I asked them exactly how they were testing Bluetooth latency.
They were loading up a Youtube video, in the respective apps for the mobile devices or on Chrome on PC, and measuring the difference between a known visual queue and audio playing over the device.
Which is exactly what I suspected they were doing.
Because the mobile apps have latency correction systems.

@aeva Some products that I do not hesitate to recommend to anyone who is in the market for them:
- Get a microplane grater for your kitchen. Brand doesn't really matter. They're inexpensive and you'll neither hurt yourself using them nor need to spend more than 30 seconds cleaning them; decidedly not true for most other kinds of graters.
- MoYu RS3 M 2020 Rubik's Cube. They're like $9 and not the _best_ you can get but really good. If you're not sure if you might like cubing, try this one. -
If I were to start such a business, I'd probably need to rent an office next to an ewaste disposal facility though because my product testing for laptops and phones would conclude with finding the exact amount of abuse needed to render the device unrepairable for most users starting with ordinary mishaps and gradually escalating to increasingly absurd treatment (this process would be filmed, of course).

(I've just been told by a person nearby that they usually change at Gallarate and the sign with the trains is pretty big and convenient, you only have to be sure you're looking at the partenze (departures) and not the arrivi (arrivals) one)
The railway line is the same where this morning one train arrived on time, so unless there are further rains and unrelated disruptions there shouldn't be significant problems
