If you survey US people and ask them if MLK Jr's assassin worked alone, or was part of a conspiracy:
* 66% of white Americans say conspiracy.
* 100% of Black Americans say conspiracy.100%. Everyone.
Because *some* white Americans know about the group that Bill Sullivan ran, but almost all Black Americans know about it. 🤷🏿♂️
It's possible to study "US History" in an American school, get an A in the class, and have never even heard COINTELPRO. Because the term is not even part of the official US history curriculum.🤡
This in a country that claims to care so much about "free speech."

@mekkaokereke White Brit here, looking this up, but would be grateful for any good places/resources you can recommend to get started please. A Black Californian friend here has told me some, and I recently read Percival Everett's Dr. No, but not sure I've heard about COINTELPRO before.

The best entertainment film on COINTELPRO is "Judas and the Black Messiah." It's from after Dr. King's time, but covers their actions.
Unlike most Civil Rights movies, this one has a Black Director and writer behind the camera. You can see and feel the difference in the way the story is told.

@mekkaokereke Argentinian teacher here. We celebrate our independence every year from both Spain and the military dictatorship, yet if I don't personally insert a quote about Operation Condor in the speeches, the US (the actual main culprit) goes unnoticed. If I don't tell my children about the African slave genocide in my country, directed by our Founding Fathers, they don't ever hear about it. The Pig Empire's hands (and those of their ideological peers) in oppressing brown/black people must be held vocally responsible at every opportunity.

I am sure it's still going on, both in the USA and UK. I know here we've had recent controversy over our intelligence services lying and cos it was majority white middle class people, it's got traction. Despite black campaigners like Doreen Lawrence having been phone tapped etc and pro Palestine groups getting loads of shit.

I didn't consider it until just now but what if you used an epilator as a way to torture a sub? I bet that would work out pretty well, epilating a partner to put them in their place, make them nice and smooth, and forcefem them all at the same time

@evan Higher Logic abandoned open source Vanilla Forums. It stopped releases years ago, and is now withholding all new code. I hacked the hell out of the final code sync from December to make it work, made it AGPLv3, and bundled everything I could find into “core” because the addon directory is gone. Might give folks a little more time.
