TORONTO!! Hwæt!!!
Do you like RIAN JOHNSON do you like the idea of RIAN JOHNSON DOING A MYSTERY because in TWO AND A HALF HOURS, at 6:30 TODAY, the Revue is showing Johnson's first and best film, Brick
https://revuecinema.ca/films/brick/
It is a noir story in a shitty SoCal high school. It's so weird and so incredible, the structure is so interesting and twisty, the cinematography makes ordinary objects cryptic and beautiful, it moves so quickly from "this makes no sense" to "this makes so much sense"

@mcc "Before Knives Out and Poker Face...". What? Is that what we've come to? You direct a Star Wars movie and it doesn't even get a mention in your bio?
(FWIW IMO 8 was the least awful sequel.)

@mcc the only movie I ever rewatched immediately after watching it the first time. Would love to see this again on the big screen.

@mcc huh... haven't seen this since college. Had to watch it for a class, along with two other movies that I can't remember the titles of but can vividly describe scenes from. All three were very weird, high concept dramas.
Edit: managed to look them up: "Short Cuts" and "Dogville"

@mcc Yes, Brick is excellent. I was saying the other day how sad it was that the director who made that is now churning out terrible sub-Poirot rubbish.

@arratoon i'm just glad he's having fun. he had to deal with the fake star wars fans and he deserves a decade's worth of taking a break
