Alone Season 2 is off with a bang. Desmond didn't even make it one day. Went into the woods, saw bear scat, and noped right out of there.
Tracy is already looking like a frontrunner. No-nonsense, seems to know her stuff. Former cop, so probably a coward without a gun, but nonetheless, she's the most promising we've met yet. Country girl from Aiken, South Carolina, probably not too scared of critters.
Mary Kate aint gonna make it. Where do you even find a down sleeping bag?

Larry complains more than any person I have ever seen, but he seems to have stood his ground when the bears started raising a ruckus near his camp. I guess we'll see how he feels about it in the morning.
Mary Kate maybe got her shit together a little bit and made a decent shelter? She's having a real hard time with that ax, though. They are not going to convince me she's a trained survivalist, and is she building a fire shelter with a plastic tarp on top?

Oh, it's gonna be ol' Mike. He knows his edible plants, and is not overly concerned about finding fresh bear scat, and has already set up a net for fish.

Bare feet!? Randy, you are not thinking this through. They let you have sturdy shoes, what are you doing? I mean, he's starving, so he won't be there long enough for a bacterial infection to get him, but, why extend the invitation?

Randy dumped his ferro rod into the fire. He's going home. He was always going home. No reason to wait around, go on home and be comfortable and close to medical attention for the foot injuries you sustain while walking around barefoot in inappropriate places.

It happened and is still happening, but given the state of the world, weaponized misinformation etc etc, is it happening fast enough?
So this half-day event will be exclusively focused on how to grow the Open Social Web to bring its benefits to more people.

When Elon bought Twitter now over three years ago, and every time X has been rocked by scandal since, many people expected a big exodus to decentralized social media platforms based on open protocols.

anyway my cosmology holds that souls are not a "real, physical object", but do/should be thought to exist as our term to handwave away "it seems like people act as moral, empathetic actors even when it's against their 'rational' best interest" like. there's clearly something there even if we don't know how to describe it, right? i call it a "soul"

this is all to say, i don't think you have to believe in All That Woo to believe in souls (patterns and qualities in humans that are not physically obvious or measurable but nevertheless exist and can be observed through social and moral interaction) and also to believe that chatbots do not have them and like. idk.
i think that chatbots have as much claim to "imagination" as humans do. but that doesn't mean they are good at stuff!
